The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is set to sieze N3billion properties of former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
According to reports, the properties are said to be located in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
According to a popular daily, an EFCC source said: “Based on latest intelligence, we have been able to trace more choice assets to Mrs. Alison-Madueke in Port Harcourt. We have drafted more operatives in Rivers State.
“We have identified more than five of such assets but we need to verify the ownership by going through some documents before attaching the properties in line with our mandate.
“In the next one week, our team in Port Harcourt would have completed their assignment. We will then release the value of the assets. We are also on the trail of some accomplices who were used for the property deals.
“We are still working in collaboration with NCA in the UK. I think we are getting closer to the final leg of the Mrs. Alison-Madueke probe”.
The EFCC, in June 2016, seized an Abuja mansion worth $18 million from Alison-Madueke. The house also contained a bulletproof gym and furnishing worth $2 million.
According to the agency, the home was bought with stolen public funds and is part of the $10 billion worth of property and cash recovered from corrupt government officials.

Again, Doctors Threaten To Embark On Indefinite Strike
The National Association of Resident Doctors, NARD, has threatened to embark on strike if the federal and state governments fail to resolve all outstanding issues in the health sector before September 30.
Dr. John Onyebueze, the newly elected President of the association gave the warning at the end of NARD’s 26th Annual General Meeting in Enugu.
He expressed displeasure with the current state of public health care delivery in the country, describing the situation as ‘pitiable’.
Onyebueze call for the immediate implementation of pending agreements between the government and health workers, warning that the association “cannot guarantee industrial harmony in the health sector if this persists beyond the payment of September salaries”.

He also demanded the immediate upgrade of infrastructure in teaching hospitals, urgent action against poliomyelitis and Lassa fever, as well as the immediate release and implementation of the report on the Residency Training Programme.
He added that the association was unhappy with the disruption of the structure of the residency programme by chief medical directors of teaching hospitals.
